Chairman

For more than 30 years, Bill has been an entrepreneur building global technology companies. In the early 80s, Bill founded VeriFone, the transaction automation company that has made credit authorization terminals ubiquitous on retail merchant counters throughout the U.S. In 1998, VeriFone was sold to HP for approximately $2.1 billion. Then, in the early 90s, Bill joined as an early investor and as Director of the Board of America Online.

Bill has also held positions as Chairman and CEO of Cybercash, a pioneer in e-commerce transaction systems, and, in 1994, he co-founded Transaction Network Services (NASDAQ: TNSI), a nationwide network dedicated to efficient transportation of financial transactions. TNSI was sold to PSINET in 1999 for approximately $750 million. Bill currently serves on the Boards of Directors of several privately held technology companies. Bill holds a Master’s degree in Asian Studies and Chinese philosophy.

Dr. Netravali is the Managing Partner at OmniCapital, prior President of Bell Laboratories and has been instrumental in bringing about numerous innovations in the television and communications industry. He is a Board Director of Level 3 and LSI Logic, and an advisor to Storm Ventures and Accenture.[/one_fourth]

Dr. Netravali is a recepient of the National Medal of Technology from President Bush and a recepient of the Padma Bhushan award from the President of India. He holds a Ph.D in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Al has over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. Al is currently the Chairman of Pipeline Trading, the innovative block trading platform. Prior to joining Pipeline, from June 1996 until August 2003, Al served as President and then Vice-Chairman of The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. Before Nasdaq, Al was a Managing Director of Alex. Brown & Sons, a leading investment bank. Al co-founded Alex.

Brown’s Technology Group in 1975. The Technology Group completed about 500 financial offerings for clients while he was associated with the Alex. Brown. Al is a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance of the University of Pennsylvania (MBA) and the University of Virginia (BA). He served as an officer in the United States Air Force.

 

userDonald K Peterson

Don Peterson’s telecommunications career spanned thirty years and he was CEO of Avaya Inc. from 2000 to 2006. He led a restructuring and recapitalization of that business as well as shifted the technology base from TDM to VoIP, that is, to the technology model of data communications, away from circuit switched technology. Prior to Avaya, Don had been the chief financial officer during Lucent’s first years in the latter half of the 1990s.

Don’s career in telecommunications started in1976 at Nortel. He served as Nortel’s chief financial officer in 1986 and 1987 and was appointed group vice president over Nortel’s enterprise product business unit in 1987.

Don has an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College, and a BS in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is a Trustee of Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association, a Director of the Sanford C. Bernstein Fund and a Trustee at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Don Peterson and his wife live in northern New Jersey and eastern Maryland and have two grown children.

 

userVijay Khanna

Vijay serves as a General Partner at GIV Ventures. As a member of its founding team in early 2000, Vijay helped launch GIV’s offices in India, China and Silicon Valley, and executed several of its early investments in Enterprise Software, Payments, and Hybrid IT Services. Vijay left GIV in 2002 to earn his MBA from the Wharton School of Business and upon graduation joined SAP AG. At SAP, Vijay served as Vice President of Corporate Development where he identified and structured several new business development programs, minority investments, and strategic partnerships which resulted in explosive revenue growth for SAP.

Since rejoining GIV in 2007, Vijay has been involved in building companies in the Enterprise and Consumer Software, Payments, Concept and Semantic Web, and Online Advertising markets. His current portfolio companies and board directorships include: TraceGains, Knewco, e4e, Tarang Technologies, LucidMedia, Pipeline Trading Systems, and Cvent.

Vijay holds an MBA in Operations Management and Private Equity from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Rochester.

Vijay is a competitive squash player and was nationally ranked during his college years. Vijay resides in Bryn Mawr, PA.
